Can someone tell me how to remove the upper steering colum bearing on my '70
f100 2wd three speed column shift. I know the lower one just slides off the shaft but, the upper one seems maybe pressed into the turn signal collar. Is it just a matter of tapping it out using a similar diameter socket? Also, the lower bearing sits on a nylon bushing..Is the upper bearing also suppose to sit on a nylon bushing? Thanks for any help..Mark.
Well, I answered my own questions. The upper bearing just tapped out with a socket and mallet. I found the bearing and sleeve set at the Ford dealership. The parts guy didn't even know he had them. Total bill for two bearings and two sleeves, about Ten Bucks. In case anyone was wondering Fords part number for these parts are... Bearing= C3DZ-3517-A Sleeve= B1AZ-3518-A
