Proper response etiquette
For those who sometimes don't read the opening post (originally posted 5-30-2005)
Even one's humor gets mistaken for being condenscending.
I will be the first to admit correcting what I know to be wrong info......Herein lies the quandry: if you KNOW someone is living in the twilight zone about ANYTHING............a past vehicle's performance, what he's beat, economy etc.. Or you KNOW that a competitor has a better product at the moment (GOD how we all hate thinking we made the wrong purchase!!) What do YOU do??? Let people live their fantasy? Or do you correct them?
I don't want Ford supporters to be like ricer's or certain punks that spout chevy nonsense (not all GM supporters do this) EVERYTHING that is Ford is not all ending..........we have our good and our bad. I want to be the intelligent ones, I don't want people saying old 6.9 diesels were quicker than SS 454's, that someone bought a BOSS 429 for $200, That they have 150 MPH full size 302 Broncos(very old thread), 130 MPH Econoline vans, 4.9 sixes that'll outpull ANYTHING, that "basically" a 4.6 is two old pinto engines
etc..
Some people when corrected will admit their mistake ( I THOUGHT the 310 HP wasn't until 2001 because the vans still had 275HP in 2000, I ADMITTED I was wrong and thanked the correction) other people FREAK and will make huge fools trying to save face.
What do you guys think? Let the dreamers dream or try to be above other boards with CORRECT and USEFUL info?
Eagerly awaiting responses...........or flames

yet.I can't speak about the other forms, but the V10 one is top notch. They have always given me good advice & I think very balanced advice ie. they don't trash the PSD in favor of the V10.
I think I will get some
now as listing all the good posters would be a very long list.Added; I must be asleep already. This was posted in 2005 & I sure missed it. April fools again maybe.
