Even though I did the vacuum test and wound up replacing the reservoir cannister, my a/c still cuts off at wot or high rpm's. Go figure.

Yes, with the vacuum tester I fixed all the leaks. If you have no leaks hook the guage to the A/C controls side of the little mushroom shaped check valve. Start engine, hold brakes firmly, put in gear and apply load to engine slowly . Watch vacuum guage. If the little check valve is OK the vacuum will not drop off. Mine dropped to almost zero at heavy throttle like the engine.. Got new one at dealership for about $11 and waaa laaa!!!!! A/C vacuum lines stays high and keeps blowing nice cold air.

There have been many threads on the subject. To see how I fixed mine click on my name and see my posts. By getting an inexpensive vacuum tester I found four vacuum problems so far and my 5.8 runs great now and A/C always freezes my fanny no matter where, when or how I drive.
Vacuum leak no mas....spent a total of $11.65 for this check valve and spent a total of 12 seconds to install, and presto, no fading a/c under acceleration. Drives better. That made for a total of 3 vacuum leaks that I came across. Thanks.

Yep, finally repalced the air. cond. check valve and had a chance to test this weekend and voila, no more air conditioning redirecting under heavy load.

I starting to cringe having to find a leaking vacuum line somewhere. Nice cheap $12 cdn fix

Was just thinking how much money I saved my doing it myself and getting the part myself versus letting some garage ape violate me at checkout.
Just a suggestion......with the money saved you could think about becoming a
FTE Member by making a one time yearly donation. I am quite sure you will be saving much more money in the future, as I have......so what the hell???
