Looking for Computer Module

My oldest daughter locked both sets of keys in the Ex today while our infant son was inside. Thank goodness, the Ford dealership sent out a tech right away that was able to slim-jim the drivers door lock. The wife and are now finally trying to enable the keyless entry.

Our owner’s manual says to locate the keyless entry code on the Computer Module. We have looked all over the firewall and under the driver's side dash. We cannot locate the Computer Module. Where is the Computer Module?<O</O

I would just take the thing in and pay the $40 or so for them to retrieve the code.

It'll be worth every penny.

But if you look behind the parking brake and up against the outside "wall" you'll see the computer. I never found mine anywhere on my truck but others have found that code.

Yep, just take it to the dealer. It'll take a tech 10 minutes to retrieve the code.

You'd be better off putting in your own code. The owner's manual shows you how to do this, and you need your ignition key.

Assuming we are all talking about the keyless entry code for the door keypad, yes you can put in your own code, but in order to do this you need the factory code FIRST. Adding your own personal code is just that, adding. The factory code cannot be overwritten or erased.

Dealer pulled the code at no charge.

I talked to a couple of mechanics; they said that several vehicles do not have the sticker on the computer module.<O</O

Will a scan tool give you the code?

The generic scan tools that stores like Auto Zone sell will not enable you to pull the codes. The only parameters they access are the generic OBDII ones that are manadated by the EPA and CARB. You must have a Ford specific scan tool like an NGS (thats what I have) or a WDS to go into the correct module to retrieve the door codes.
