I have a digital camera that can store sound in pics (HP m407). I inserted a sound clip into a pic and can hear it once I uploaded it to my PC. The thing is, is there a way to extract the sound clip out of the picture file? (JPEG format)
you need an image editing software that is capable of handleing that particular jpeg format. good probability the software that came with you camerahas that option.
This is all I can find about Avi & Mpeg files in HP systems.

Some HP digital imaging devices can capture video clip files. Just like image files, the resulting digital video files are transferred to the computer when you unload.
Some HP digital imaging devices store video clip files in MPEG-1 format, with a file extension of .mpg. These files can be viewed using Windows Media Player, which comes standard with the Windows operating system. If you share your .mpg video clip files with others, your recipients do not need a special viewer if they are using Windows.
Other HP digital imaging devices store video clip files in Motion-JPEG AVI files, with a file extension of .avi. These files are not supported by default in Windows. If you have one of these devices, a decoder is installed with your HP software. This decoder works in conjunction with a viewer, such as Windows Media Player, to allow you to view .avi files. If you share .avi video clip files with others, the recipient might need a compatible video clip files viewer.
Well, I finally got it.... after downloading ACD mpower tools. I don't like this program....it added too many things, including options on the 'Right-Click' menu. It's going in the can. LOL
