Napa 6637

Thanks guys.. After reading the tons of information on this site about kwik's napa 6637 diy filter mod.. I just installed it this morning no issues. I used a piece of ss 4"X4" tubing to make the connection to the 6637 ($40.22 for filter) with a ss hose clamp. I am looking to get an increase in fuel mileage alone with the improved sound

I believe that they are in fact one in the same.

I do know that alot of Napa filters are made by WIX.

Don't count on an increase in milage, I know mine didn't change a bit. However, a new intake is a must do if you are planning power adders or have a leaking stock airbox.

I zip tied it to a brake line next to the air filter out of harm's way.

Did you unplug it from the connector and take it out? (As I did ) or leave it plugged in then zip tied it?

It's still plugged in on mine. The ECU uses the information from that sensor for cold morning fast idle.

As is mine, and it works just fine on cold mornings - or as cold as they get here, anyway.

Fuel mileage? No. No change that I can see.

None whatsoever. Dry all the time, even after a drive in the rain. Still on my original filter too from last year and it won't get changed 'til next year from the looks of it. Just barely turning grey right now.

Just to add, and I know you guys have never really heard from me before, but.....

I took an elbow off one of my dust collectors at my shop and it looks OEM. Everything slid together great.
