I have a 83 F100. Last year I swapped out the dead six cylinder for a 302 I had lying around the back yard. Everything runs great but after it warms I have little if any oil pressure.
How hard is it to do the crank kit thing and can it be done in the vehicle. I have the means to pull the motor but would prefer not to unhook everything.(Exhaust, fuel lines, coolant lines,wires,etc.)..........Thanks a lot. ................Dave Legg
It's a little difficult, but it can be done. I've pulled my oil pan on my '82 351 by raising the engine about 4", make sure you block it off (I also loosened the tranny mount) so it doesn't drop on you, you can then pull the oil pan and get to the crank. Make sure you put a new oil pump and pickup in when you got it open.
