Legally, you can't tow/haul more than Ford specs say. That is the sticker on the door jam. If you were involved in an accident and the athorities found out you were over the limits you could be in big trouble. Now for the good news. Your truck, except for the height of the rear spring blocks, is exactly the same as an F350.(equiped with the 265x75x16 tires) The 4.30 gears will make towing much better. There are many people out there towing big 5vers with F250's with no problems. I'd go for the gear swap. If the truck squats too much add air bags.
