d60 d50

I was wondering what is the difference between the two d60 and d50. also what are some key ways of telling them apart.

D50 is ttb, D60 is solid axle both are the same from the spindles out and can interchange those parts. D60 is a better choice for tire wear and strength, much better for offroad too.

80-98 pre-super duty the D50 is TTB (IFS). 99+ it's solid. like stated they use D60 Spindles out. The D60 is the strongiest and best choice.

Telling them apart 80-98 is easy. They break in the middle.

99+ is easiest to me is by looking on the lower driver side of the housing and it'll be stamped 50 or 60. also the tag on the diff can tell you.
