Elkman,

I can only attest to the Hypertech's "bang-for-the-buck" value, and that'd be in a 2001 Camaro Z-28, not a SD Ford truck. Personally, I was impressed with the ease of use of the Hypertech Power Programmer, but was equally unimpressed with what it did for the vehicle. I could change shift points and the rev-limiter, etc, but as far as true hp gains?... Minimal if any, at best. I ran differnet combinations of settings over a period of about a year and found that I liked the performance of the stock settings the best! Go figure.

I have heard a few good things about the Edge programmer, but frankly I don't see how one aftermarket computer programmer is going to be much different than another, since they all perform similar functions.

What exactly are you looking for the programmer to do for you? Towing? Raw hp? or ???

i really want 100 raw horsepower....im runnin 38's right now and want to bring the engine up to snuff with the tires before i re-gear it. and i thought similar with how they are all the same...im just a little nervous cauase i saved for a long time after the lift and tires to b able to get the one i did and i didnt want to get the wrong one. my boss has an edge chip and he loves it, but others love the superchips programers....i just didnt kno if there was a difference between them. thanks

elkman375,

Go with the Edge Evolution, we have done a lot of trucks with it and never had a bad customer response. Hypertech is a Tennessee company and we would like to support them but the Evolution has the HP and the features that are the best overall. Call us if you have any questions we'll be glad to help.
