hazeljen,
I just bought a used 2000 Expedition w/ about 61k miles and it too leaned to the driver's side, so I crawled under it and did some adjusting: 15 minutes later I had a level Expedition. You will need a jack and a ratchet with an 18mm socket. Your truck is leaning to the driver's side so jack the drivers side up (use the frame and not the lower control arm) until a good portion of the weight is off of the front drivers wheel. Next, crawl under the truck near the back of the driver's door and look for a black bar approximately 1.25 inches in diameter which runs forward to the lower control arm. That's the torsion bar, and the adjustment arm is located at the rear of the torsion bar. Find the bolt which pushes on the adjustment arm and give it a couple cranks with the wrench ("tightening" direction will raise the front of the truck and "loosening" direction will lower the front of the truck). If your truck is really out of whack, try a little raising on the low side and a little drop on the high side. If you run out of adjustment on either bolt, then you probably have a torsion bar problem (broken, weak, etc) and may need replacement parts. Hope this helps.
Wow, timely information! I was walking up to my garage today and I noticed mine is leaning to the drivers side as well. I just figured it was time for me to go on a diet...lol!
I always thought my truck sat higher in the front, so I will have to make some adjustments...
Guys, read your manual; Ford programmed in the lean to the driver side so that it would 'squat' down on that side, supposedly making it easier to get into the vehicle. It's a stupid feature, but that's why it leans. I took my truck in several times the first couple years and complained about it, dealer swore it was fine, then they finally pulled out the &&^%## manual and showed it to me. What a bunch of crap. Just make the mods you are talking about and forget about the programmed in lean.... we wouldn't want to have our wives get runs in their stockings gettin into the truck .....
