New to the site. I have an 04 edge 5spd. I was just wondering on these 3.0 setups is it really worth putting the bolts ons and exhaust on these trucks. I mean even if you did the intake underpullie MAF and catbacks etc is it really going to give you that much of a boost in power? If all I’m going to get is an extra 15 hp to the wheels or so I cant hardly see spending the money, or is there more gains than I’m suspecting?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
If your upgrades will void your warranty or make the vehicle so the dealer won't touch it, then I'd say no way (for me). I'm kind of a "if it aint broke..." guy, but everyone should do what makes them happy.
A friend's son added a bunch of performace upgrades to his 04(?) Pontiac GPX and "found" a new weak spot in his drive train. Now he can't find a dealer that will even touch it unless he pays (or puts it back to stock and keeps quiet on the history).
I guess I should have also asked in my last post what kind of hp/torque difference can I expect with bolt on. For example if I did dual catbacks, K&N, underpullies and MAF would I notice a difference in performance?
Well i seen this thread/place and i just had to register. Seems like a welcoming place.
anyways, i have an 02 ranger edge ext. cab(automatic trans). I put Flowmaster exaust on it with the dual pipes. The cat was left un touched. It costed $216 and it was worth it but it could be better. I dont find it added any noticble hp. I still only powerbrake with one wheel spinning. I still dont have nothing for off the line acceleration when i floor it. I do have a strong mid to high rpm range though. Around 78 the rev limiter kicks in and takes it out of the passing gear. Im sorry i cant give you number but i dont know much about this stuff. I learn as i go.
