aod to c6?

aod to c6?
I have a 90f150. It was bought without a transmission and am thinking of putting in a c6. It originally had an aod and manual shift 1356 tcase. Does anyone know if a c6 will bolt to the 1356 that was on the aod? Does the aod and c6 have the same spline count? Also, I was wondering what axle gears are usually used for stock c6 transmissions?
Thanks,
dan

Dan, I believe the AOD is longer than C-6 so some driveline lengths will also need to be changed. You did not say what engine you have or what you use your truck for (towing, hard off-road, etc.)My feeling is you wouldn't want a 4WD unless it had at least a 3:55 or 3:73 gear. From all the posts I've seen on problems with the overdrive units your making a good choice to go to a C-6. Deen
