i am trying to remove my stock muffler i was wondering what i need to pull it off i already broke all the bolts off on the clamps but it still wont budge?
Take a hack-saw and cut it off. Once they rust in place they are almost impossible to get off... The other option is an air chisel. Use it to split the inlet and outlet tubings, then try to work it off.
Disappointment is an understatement. lol All I have is the little piece of straight pipe after the cats....It's maybe a slight bit deeper in tone, but definitely nothing dramatic.
I kicked mine and smacked it a few times with a hammer until it fell off...LOL!
Whatever works ya know? Those handheld torches don't usually work too well on exhaust...find a buddy with a bigger torch.

MemOrex,
How much louder is a LOT louder? lol Loud enough to require a muffler...and possibly a ticket?... or loud enough that it sounds good without crossing the "loud pipes ticket"
line?

It sounds good...without being overly loud. Just loud enough to make car alarms go off, but not sirens. Very rumbly...I remember while driving under bridges, I could hear it echoing back, DEEP!
Here, where I live, the only people that get 'loud exhaust' tickets are the ones with obnoxious exhaust. (like popping glasspacks).
MemOrex,
Hmmm...sounds like I might need to go a "step" further and remove that 2nd cat.
I like that rumbly sound...nothing like the sound of a FORD V-8 with good pipes.
There are a few tunnels here I'd love to hear that deep rumbly sound in. lol
"Popping glasspacks"?....Hmmm...sounds like something a Chevy guy would do. lol
I never did like glasspacks on a Chevy....closest I ever got was the "Original Cherry
Bombs" on my '67 390...now THAT sounded GOOOOD!!
I've got 'em on my '69 Ranger 302 w/351 heads too...but it's got dual exhaust all the
way to the back right now....I'll be changing that this summer hopefully.
