Fuel Filter Help

I just tryed to changer the fuel filter in my 96' 2.3L Ranger but i ran into a problem. I was able to get the fuel tank end of the line to the filter off fine, but i couldnt get off the engine side of it. It looks like a completely different fitting. Does anyone know how to get this off, and how to put it back on the new one?

i believe you need a special tool for it. can get them from any auto parts store just make sure you get the metal tool not the plastic one.
