Battery Light!
I drive a 1994 F150 that has 350,000 KMs, does not burn oil and is well maintained. Anyway two days ago I went on some old mining roads to check out a new mine under construction. The road was quite greasy with mud water, etc. We had 15cm of snow and it still spring breakup. Anyway the road is approx 17KMs in length. When I turned around to come back for the first time ever I noticed the battery light coming on, meter was in normal area approx 10 but for the last 4 years I have never seen the reading move off of 13. The truck still starts fine and alt seems to be charging. The battery is a 3 year old interstate. Should I be worried or can I do a load test somehow. PS, I dont have the luxury of city amenities anywhere close to where I live.

Don't trust your gauge too much. Put a meter right on the battery and see if its above 12v.
If its under 12, you might want to get the battery load tested. The place that sold you it may do it for free or may even out-n-out replace it without testing.

Is the battery light still on? If it is now off, the problem may have been the alternator belt slipping because of mud/water. How old is the belt? Is the belt tight enough? If the light starts coming on every now and then, and gets more frequent, it indicates the the alternator is starting to go bad, or the belt is starting to go bad.
