Changing a Auto Shift Collar Help!
My 81 f-150's shift collar is about to break.... i cant find any manuals or anything on how to change it.. a freind and i did his on his 86 f-150 and took us like 8 hours and his is really hard to put into gear! i dont want that problem! any help or instructions would be great!!

Fortunately for you, not me, I have done this several times, mostely because of little mistakes on the first try(s). Anyway, I believe I can help you out some.
Fist, what type of column is it? Does it have automatic or a manual transmission? Is it a tilt or not?
Get back with this info and we will proceed from there.
I had some printed material on this but it only gets you so far and I can't locate it right now.
