Hello, I have a 77 Highboy 4x4 but I'm using a 76 F250 2WD cab. I have installed an intermitten wiper switch, which works well. I haven't been able to get the windshield washers to work yet. I have installed a new washer motor & tank, and checked the fuses. I don't have any power on the pig tail connector which plugs on to the washer motor.
Any ideas on what might be the problem with my system, where to test or what to look for? The truck hasn't had a tank and motor on it in years till now. Any help would be appreciated.
Hey Guys, I've got her spraying all the way on top of the cab now. When I installed my intermitten switch, I had plugged the little 2 wire connector on the wrong way. The black & white wire has to be plugged on to the green & black wire going to the pump for it to get power, AAAARRRRRRGGGGG .
Hi Matt, Just type in " 73 79 wiper switch" into ebay. Most of the time there are 2 or 3 of them on there. They usually go, anywhere from 25 to 40 bucks.
The intermitten wiper swich came on some of the 73 to 79 trucks like the XLT's and the Lariat's. It's easy to hook up. Just unplug your old switch and plug the intermitten one in and hook up the ground wire. It's that easy. It has a delay box made right into the harness with it.
Just make sure you plug the little 2 prong part of the switch back in right, so your windshield washers will work. I think, even the switches up to about the mid 80s's will work but, I'm not sure on that. Like I said, there's usually a few on ebay most of the time.
