My truck is living proof that what you were told is 100% wrong, I have no egr, I get 14 mpg (around town), and I've done everything I can to make it ping, just short of advancing the timing to 20* and running 87 octane. The 5.0 car intake has internal egr passages and uses an egr spacer between the tb and the manifold that the egr valve attaches to.

The mustang upper manifold won't work with the truck lower manifold, the runners are to different.(mustang runners are oval and truck runners are rectangular) If your gonna run the mustang manifolds then the egr tube goes in the scrap pile because it is no longer needed. Basicly to retain the egr with the mustang intake you need upper and lower manifolds, egr spacer, and the mustang style egr valve.

Yeap, mass air computer,
mass air meter,
Ecm conector ( for the pins and to lern how it comes apart)or you could go buy some from ford.

You do not need to get the sefi injector harness from a mass air vehicle, crown vics were sefi and speed density , lincon town cars, cougurs, v8 thunder birds and mustangs. But you would most likely need to do some modification to it

The mass air harness is jsut 4 wires and is pretty easy to make. I ran 3 to the ecm , and one to a body ground and used a mass air plug from a 4.6 crown vic.

You know the one thing that pisses me off about these MAF conversion articles?
They always say...If you have an e40d then you have some research to do...but for the sake of being easy lets do it with this way...

MY GOD THAT DOESNT HELP ANYONE!!!! Everyone has an e40d so WTF!!! There is nowhere that has difinative info on what to use exactly with a 351W and an e40d trans....NOWHERE. Basically if you have an auto from 92-95 your screwed! Why dont they just do it this way since theres more e40d;s out there? Sorry for the rant lol....its frustrating....I have to use a trans control unit and MAF kit just to get it to work thats like 1200 bucks total...PITA!

No you don't, all you have to do is use a mustang ecu to control the engine, and use the truck ecu as a piggyback to control the tranny. If you search (google is your friend) there is a company that makes kits to do it. (just don't remember who)

EH...in the end I like the transmission control unit due to its ability to be tuned. But non the less I had to do all the GOOGLE work and so on. Why cant they just do an article on how to do it with the e40d whithout having to pay double the price of the truck just to do it... 1600 buck for a Pro-M kit.....my got for what!! thats robery!

Swaping in an aod or a manual would be cheaper than that, not to mention eaiser.(I'm so glad my truck has an aod)

But an Aod isnt as tough as an E40d....not to mention that tall 2.71 first gear that the Aod doesnt have. As far as a five speed....to much hassle.

True, but for as much as it cost to do a stock rebuild on the e40d you can have one heck of an aod built.
