Memorex, i would doubt your rig has the AOD. they stopped using that tranny after 89 in the trucks/broncos. is there a button to turn the od off on the end of the shifter? if so then you have the e4od and so would the 95 making what your wanting to do a direct swap over and yes you could use the ecu from the 95 as well .

I know of someone with an AOD in a '93, to my surprise as well. Apparantly the 5.0's kept the AOD up until the 4R70W or something like that.

strange, must have been a special order at one time. either way he could still use everything from the 95. it just wont see the tranny but still alow everything to work properly.

it is, very very few had the AOD at that time. concider yourself lucky when it comes time for a rebuild . you would be half of what the e4od would cost for sure. even if you spent it on a sweet built AOD would still be almost half

My dad's 93 302 is an AOD. Know for sure, we rebuilt it already...

Realistically you could use an A9P out of a Mustang for that swap with an F150 harness... You may have to find pinout diagrams for those, and double check, maybe swap a couple of pins and change your firing order, but that should be about it.

I know its probably possible, but is it feasable to convert my 85 F150 with the Speed density system over to the EEC-V System? Reason i ask is i was at the junk yard today getting parts for the conversion, and i got a computer and a maf, and i didnt realize that it was an EEC-V system, not an EEC-IV system. Should i just get different diagrams and continue, or should i stop and get an EEC IV computer?

The EEC-V (OBD-II) is much different setup. It has more sensors than EEC-IV. It can be done, but I would just get EEC-IV for simplicitys sake.

Rob Lasota (Losota Racing) converter his 94, EEC-4, speed density Lightning over to EEC-5. He said that the system works great with his turbocharged combo, but the installation is EXTREMELY involved.

yea. frederic, from the 87-96 Forum, is going EEC-V. What he is making is complete different beast though.

I figured this much. Well, are the Mass air flow sensors the same? I know the connectors are not. I guess they change from oval in 1995 to rectangular in 1996. Are the actual sensors still the same? The one i have only has 4 wires. I suppose i will have to buy an EEC IV computer. Do i have to worry about getting one and changing distibutors since i need to convert it from EFI to SEFI?
