Going about 50+ MPH.. the truck starts to shutter... Almost like its shutting down.. My 2000 F350 SD Diesel keeps throwing this code... "Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Intermittent" .. P0344
What exactly does this mean.. How do I fix it.. Has it happened to anyone else...????????
Lucky you are getting a code, most trucks just die suddenly without warning. It's an easy fix. You can go to the article here on this site that shows you how to replace it. The part can be purchased at you local Ford dealer, or you can get it much cheaper at an International dealer if you have one close to you.
There is an write-up here in the Technical Articles section and it describes the replacement of this part. It's a common failure but the part is easy to replace.
I put the new sensor in today but now its leaking oil there.. I know I cleaned the surfaces and used new oil when installing it.. Will it hurt to take it back out and use some RTV.. ??
