Loose steering wheel ?
Hi all,
OK, you got my input on fixing floppy visors now I need some info on a loose steering wheel.
The "oval ring" is loose and has plenty of give and take when you apply pressure to the top side. Now I don't mean the tilt assembly or where it attaches to the steering column, I mean the "where you put your hands" portion. Don't know what caused it... just appeared. Are there any screws buried behind the cruise control assembly, etc ? Can I use a hot glue gun to reattach something, etc ? Or do I need to go to the boneyard and find a good used unit ?? Thanks !

Mine sons was like that when he bought it. I removed the plastic cover (two screws in the bottom) and found two loose machine screws that hold the column to the support.
Getting the plastic cover off is a bit of a challenge but if you tilt the wheel in each direction it is easier to remove and re-install. Hope this helps.
