Adjusting Gear Selector Pointer
On my 02 EXPl XLT I just replaced the tranny. Now the pointer on the dash (P R N D etc) is slightly off. How do i adjust this so the pointer is more correct (it now points in between the letters as opposed to directly at them which drives my wife crazy)

I haven't seen the set-up on the '02 but most earlier Ford products have a cable from indicator to the steering column. They had a thumb wheel located where the cable attaches to the steering column. I hope this is the case on your '02.

I have done this on a Mercury van when the cable broke and it's not too bad. I do remember having to remove the lock cylinder to replace the cable. Be sure to disconnect the battery any time you work around the steering column.
