New Pistol

Howdy yall, I just bought myself a present today, a Springfield XD-9:
I guess it ought to compliment my .45 Colt Vaquero rather well. Don't ya love the 72 hour waiting period BS though, oh well, don't have time to mess with it till next week anyway.

Sweet looking. What is the push button on the back of the grip for? Hope you enjoy shooting it.

This pistol has an all internal safety mechanism. That is the grip safety that must be depressed in order to pull the trigger.

I've been reading up on this pistol, very cool features.

Here is the manual for it:

Boy that looks familiar. Looks to be a sub compact if that is a picture of your actual model. I have one myself. 1000 rounds thru it not one failure. The finish may have some issues. I carry mine everyday and some of the finish has wore off on the high spots. No rust yet. Give this website a look. www.hs2000talk.com.

Oops!! I forgot.

My wife constantly asks me, "Why do you have so many guns? You only have two hands."

My answer: "Well. . .I like being able to load 'em on Sunday and shoot all week and not have to reload! Why do you have so many pairs of shoes? You only have two feet."

(The first time I said that, she left a 'mark'. . . . .)

My girlfriend, soon to be fiance, ask me why I need another gun. I asked the shoe question too. I said when we get married will you still by more shoes? She said yes and I said "OK, I am not going to get on you for buying shoes or tell you not to buy more, get the picture." She got it.
A side note, I work midnights and I am not going to sit and worry about her at home herself in OUR HOUSE without me there to protect her and so on. I didn't tell her this pistol was more for her than me . She says she'll hunt with me and so on but she won't shoot when my dad and I go shoot a few clays and so on. She's too intimidated by my .45 Colt to shoot it but my sister (who is smaller than my girlfriend) was saying how much she loved shooting my brother in laws 9mm so the 9mm is more for my g/f than me, but she don't know that yet.

But I will properly break it in for her.
