Hey there all you FORD Truck lovers. On Monday I had to drop off my Wife's suv at the GM dealership for some free upgrades. This would take several days to complete,(ha ha) so they offered me a loaner vehicle . They gave me a 2004 chevy silverado all decked out with all the bells and whistles (24k miles). At first I thought OK, my wife is going to drive it anyway so who cares. Drove it home and said to her" here you go". She looks at me like Im retarted or something.. said Thats a Chevy and I"m not driving it - you are. So to make a long story short, she has been driving my beloved 2004 f150 scab with the 5.4 lit engine, and i have been stuck with the chevy. What a cheap plastic interior, and user unfriendly interior. My coffee spilled all over the floor when my elbow accident knocked it off the center armrest. The right rear tire has to be inflated every morning because it is almost flat. The ride is rough and noisy. Crossed the railroad tracks like I do every day and the lack of what ever just about bounced my neck out of joint. Any ford lover that complains about noise and vibrations should come to this part of SD. and experience a Chevy first hand.
It’s been 4 days since I have driven my ford truck, I miss it. Maybe tomorrow.....
Come on, even if it's a dang chevy, bringing up a leaky tire is not cricket, don't ya know.
Makes me want to go drive one, just for fun and comparison.
By the way, when you compose in Office, for this forum, best to paste into a notepad document, then cut and paste into this box. Or you could save as text. This forum is set in such a way that it doesn't clear the Formating info that Word includes when you cut and paste directly to the box.
Or you can 'preview' and delete the extra returns, etc.
Hope that helps.
Chris
I've heard a lot of folks complain that a GM pickup rides too soft and car-like...I've never heard one say it rode too rough until just now. go figure.

I had a 2003 GMC Sierra Z71 SLT, before I traded it for my 04 Lariat Supercrew 4x2. The ford blows it away on looks. The GMC did have a much better carlike ride even though it was a 4x4. I don't think the interior looked cheap, but it was a bit outdated campared to Ford. The Ford is quieter inside with less wind noise, but the GMC had nicer features. Dual electronic climate control, auto dimming and folding outside mirrors. The steering wheel controls where also better as you had more control over the stereo and driver info. I can't see the driver info buttons on the ford as the are placed behind the steering wheel. Both trucks are posh, but reember the GM trucks are close to 7 years old now.
I have the vibe and have been dissapointed since this is my first Ford out of five to give me any problems, but I wish I had kept the GMC. I am now going to something completely different as I am selling my truck an have ordered a 05 Mustang GT.
How is the Mustang order thing going? I was lucky enough to be able to afford to keep the truck and get a Mustang GT. I ordered one in February and in March cancelled the order and bought one off the lot from a dealer 200 miles away. Used the truck to tow it home though, what a nice sight.
I drive a chevy every day. 1991 S-10 4.3L 4x4 with..... you ready for this.....
240,000 miles on it.
The truck it whooped, but honestly it still has more ***** at 240,000 miles then my 97 Ranger 3.0 has at 57,000 miles.
Still like my 04 Effie the best, and my blood will always bleed blue, but driving this chevy for a while has gained them a slight bit of respect in my book.

I ordered one this week from a pretty large dealer with alot of allocation. I get xplan so I had to order. My dealer says the car should be in late June or July. There are alot of people who ordered back in January that will never see their car built.
I bet your truck hauling the Stang was an awesome sight
