Hey there guy,ive seen pictures of the bronco_ranger before, but ive never seen and specs for it or anything, what makes it so different? Any websites that are about it? Thanks for any information you could pass along to the curious user
As far as I know it was merely a trim level (like the Eddie Bauer editions and Sport editions that came much later) in the early full size models. Exactly WHAT options came with the "Ranger" package I'm not certain.
Way before the Ranger became a compact truck the "Ranger XLT" was the highest trim level of an F100, F150, or Bronco. It came with all the bells and whistles of the day which translates into not much by today's standards. Bumpers had the push attachments, dash had a treatement, Interior was appointed with emblems, etc. My first truck was a '72 short box 2wd and was plain jane. I still have it and one day (read when I pay off my uncle, graduate, and become independently wealthy) I am goung to restore it. It is a "Ranger XLT".
I have a Bronco Ranger XLT (Trailer Special w/FreeWheeling package).
As Greystreak says, the Ranger is a trim package, but I'm not sure what it includes. In looking at my build sheet, I can't really tell. I'd suspect it includes carpet, upholstered door/side panels, full gauges, and perhaps bucket seats. Ford changed these "packages" from year to year, making some items standard, so it's really hard to tell for certain what they included.....
wow, thanks for the info guys,i never knew that the "ranger" used to be a package option, guess you learn something new everyday! i appreciate it! Thanks again
