2.8 carb
Hey, I am in the process of unscrewing the computer crap on my 84 ranger. I am doing a duraspark conversion and was wondering if I can use the motorcraft 2bbl off of a 302 or a 351M. Or can I just use the stock 84 2.8 carb with all the sensors unplugged? I don't have access to the stock older 2.8 non emissions carb. Thanks Marty

I dont know about that, but the first thing I'd look at is if it uses a standard carb flange or not. If so, I'd look at something like a 500cfm Holley 2 barrel. That'll flow plenty for that motor, and should provide a nice boost in performance.

A 500cfm carb is WAY to big for that engine unless you have some serious mods. You should be able to use the 2bbl from a 302 but i would look the numbers up to find the cfm rating if I were you. My stock 64 390 galaxie 4bbl carb was only rated at 446cfm, so a stocker 2bbl off a 302 might work. Dont go any bigger than about 350cfm for that engine or it will run like crap.
