Hey guys,
I need to pull the steering wheel on my 90 F150 XLT supercab and replace the plastic piece that cancels the turn signals automatically. I have the cruise control steering wheel. What's the best steering wheel puller to use with this truck? Is there a cheap, safe way to do this without a puller?
Are you sure you need to pull the wheel? That it's not the Multifunction Switch (includes turn signal) that is the problem? The MF switch has a plastic piece and spring that engages the column bit. If you already have the MF switch off, and see that the column part is broken off, then disregard.
Tim ,
Youll need a puller that allows you to thread a couple of bolts into the wheel and then thread the center part of the puller down against the stud and use a socket to pull the wheel off . Its on just enough that you have to use a puller . I think the nut is 15/16 , Also I think you ll need 2 5/16 bolts , to thread in the wheel to use with the puller . Just a few turns of the puller & the wheel should pop off .
