I am trying to add a Valiant Keyless entry system to my truck, and am having problems with which wires to use. I took the passenger side kick panel off, and found the unhookable "block" that has 8 wires. I found 2 different wires for unlock and lock. Which Wires do I use?
I'm supposed to cut the wire from the switch to the door motors.
Pastmaster's 1993 XLT 5.0 E40d 3.55LS Normal Cab/Long bed Loaded from the factory with aid of...MSd 6a ign/s.p. wires, blaster coil, Hypertech Chip, K&N filtercharger, Cat-back dual exhuast w/o mufflers, 3.5", echo tips, Accel distributor cap, Dark Mocha over light mocha. 5% Dark tint, Alpine Cd player/remote, Pioneer speakers.
From what I have come across, the lock solenoid direction of travel was controlled by reversing the polarity at the solenoid, which reverses the poles of the magnetic field that is produced,so you have 2 wires hooked to the solenoid, with the switch controlling the wire that receives the positive voltage, and making the opposite wire the ground circuit. Also, while looking at the wires at either side switch, keep in mind that the driver & pass. doors are equally controlled by either switch,so you will have several wires that are "tagged" onto the same circuit. Without a circuit chart, I really won't say much more about your situation, 'cause I don't want to steer you wrong on your model.

I'll look it up for you when I am off from work tomorrow. I've done this to my 93 F150 XLT. It's written down somewhere.
I do remember that you will need to cut the wires and more or less electrically insert the keyless entry into the circuit. It does use a reversing polarity MOTOR not solenoid to unlock the doors. It's actually a motor with a screw drive.
I can't find the notes I made when I hooked mine up so I'm getting the following information from the wiring diagram.
The PK/O wire is the lock wire going to the door lock motors. The PK/LG wire is the lock wire that goes between the left and right door switches. The PK/BK wire is the unlock wire going to the door lock motors. The PK/Y wire is the lock wire that goes between the left and right door switches. You can get power for the keyless entry from the same plug, (it does unhook), on the BK/W wire.
I believe the ones you want to cut are the PK/O and the PK/BK wires. If you could send me a scan of the hookup diagram that came with your keyless entry I can tell you which wires to hook up were.
Hi. I looking to install a keyless entry system(Black Widow 852) into my '78 truck using a Ford stock '82 power window/lock system. I can't seem to figure which wires to use in the factory '82 harness to make this work. Anyone done this install before and can share some tips?
Thanks,

i am restoifing an 81 F-150. it is replacing my 81 f-100 because pars for the 100 are geting ghard to find. Anyway, the 150 is an Ranger XL model wih no power equipment. The 100 was a Ranger XLT with power everything. I waned to keep he power door locks from the 100 but the switches were sticking so I went to Pick-A-Part ang pulled he door lock system excep for the door lock motors from an early 90's gm (yes I know) van with door lock switches from a 97 saturn (again I know). The gm system uses 3 wires at each switch instead of 5 and a dual pole/dual throw relay that grounds the system throuh the relay case. I am still using Ford lock motors.
i say all of this to say that you may ave an easier time with the keyless entry with the gm system.
If you sick with the ford system, you will need to tap into a constant hot circuit to power the lock system. you will also have to get an inline blade fuse connector and use a 30 amp circuit breaker to protect the wiring from melting if some dumb a@# holds the button too long.
