Check engine light on and off quickly
Today I was on the highway and all of a sudden the truck lost power and the check engine light came on. It was still running but barely and with hardly any power and the check engine light on. So i put foot on the gas, I didnt put it to the floor, but it was close, and the light all of a sudden went off and the truck ran fine all the way home. Now im kind of scared to drive it. I am also a first time diesel owner so i dont know much about these things. Any help is greatly appreciated

You may want to get the computer checked for codes, if you dont have a reader some of the parts stores like autozone with scan it for you.
Sounds like an overboost, at around 25 pounds of boost the computer will defuel the engine so the boost will drop back down.

if it dosnt have a chip in it its not going to create enough boost to defuel. just not enough fuel delivery with stock programming. seems almost like lost injection pressure sensor for a second causing the light to come on for the injection pressure being out of range and loss of power resulting.
