Ball Joints
Need help! I am replacing the ball Joints on my 1982 F150 2wd. I had the ball joints pressed into the axles,and installed the axles back on the truck (new bushings). My problem is when I install the spindle on to the ball joints, (the lower ball joint has a pinch nut and the upper ball joint has a cotter pin) the lower ball joint shaft spins as soon as the threads come in contact with the piched threads on the nut. The proceedure in the Hayes books states torque to 30 lbs, I can't do this because it spins. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks

Ball Joints
[font color=red size=3]The ball joint has a taper and pressing it into the spindle will often hold it in place. Usually a tap with a hammer is enough, sometimes I've had to use a small clamp to keep pressure on it.
