Hey guys. Just recieved my stainless steel hx line from KCM diesel performance. Nice looking piece!! Gonna install it in the morning. Instructions look easy to follow and he even sent mine wrapped in shop towels!! You need some to catch the oil that leaks out and to wipe the surface clean. Don't get any better than that!! I'll be back tomorrow to let you know how it goes!!
Hey guys i got it on. That was one of the easiest mods i've done!! Chris spent some time on this one! Only took about 1/2 hr if that to install. It fit like a glove as they say. Clears everything perfectly! He says in the instructions to tighten the line nuts (ones on the line) 1-1/2 to 2 turns for a proper seal from finger tight. I turned mine 1 turn and that was as far as i wanted to go. I would go by feel on this one. (Only my oppinion though) If this is a mod you want to do i would say this is the kit to use!!! Nice job Chris!
One more thing. Now is a good time to check your turbo boot! I just found a crack in mine about 1-1/2 inches long!! Its right were the boot clamps on the turbo on the intake side!!
The High Pressure Oil Crossover Line connects the left and right High Pressure Oil rails together. This allows the computer(PCM) to monitor the pressure of both High Pressure Oil rails, therefore producing a much more even fuel distribution by balancing the oil pressure between the two rails. The line also acts as an accumulator, resulting in less pressure spikes in the system. The result is a smoother idle and all around better running engine.
I purchased the hose type HPX about 1 1/2 years ago and notice a difference immediately. Smooth and quieter at idle and under acceleration. Some owners claim they do not notice a difference.
I ditched the hose for SS HPX a few months ago I am a lot more comfortable running the SS HPX over the hose type.
