Hey everybody,
Does anyone know if the 66 to 77 Bronco Vent Window Pivots Replacement pins (I found some in the NPD catalog)
Will fit in the 66 F series?
Has anyone tried? and if so did you have to modify them?
One of mine is pretty gone.
Thanks in advance,Thom
If you can come up with part number may be able to find classic auto supplier that has some around; otherwise, salvage yard is another option. Have taken pivot off vent with rusted frame and installed in vent with rusted pivot, now have 1 good vent window. Anyhow, found it is not that difficult.
Have to replace driver's vent window on my other 65. Just came across one in salvage yard couple weeks ago. Intend to visit again next few days. My understanding is that you need the driver's side vent. The interchange book i have does not list years vent windows were interchangeable. If come across anything will let you know.
Thanks Dave,
I managed to machine a replacement tab & had the welder down the street weld it on.
It came out pretty damn nice.
Should have the vent back in this weekend with all the new rubber that we just put in......it is going to rule.
Let me know if you find anything interesting though as we do not have the greatest pickings here in socal!
I appreciate having access to slick owners across the U.S.A
Might be a day late and a dollar short; but having them welded sounds pretty good; I broke one of my hinge pins off on my drivers side vent; and luckly was able to find one in local salavage yard; the originial ones are very fragile to install; I try forcing my in with brute strenght and didn't realize you only have to turn the vent perpendicular to the pin alingment to install; I will probably try and weld mine the next time I need to replace my rubber seals.
Thanks for the advice.
We didnt have any of the old tab left . So I just eyeballed a piece large enough to be milled down after welding.
Installed it in the original position. (as you could see where the original rotted away).
Milled the tab down until it slid easily into the Vent frame.
Then set the Vent back in the door and mark where the center of the pin sets.
Then we punched & drilled 2 new holes in the tab (using the frame as our template).
Pop riveted it in.....& viola! new vent window pin.
