1356 slip yoke bushing

I have a 95 F250 4WD and the output (slip yoke) seal on my 1356 is leaking. Got a new seal from ford, but the slip yoke seems pretty loose when I just slip the yoke into the ext housing (with housing OFF the TC). I realize most of the centering for the yoke should be done with the splines, but I'm wondering what the clearance should be between the yoke and the brass tube bushing inside the taillshaft housing?? My Ford parst guy claims that tailshaft is only 34$ (I don't believe it either), so if thats true, I might just go and replace it if it really needs it (if someone tells me there should be almost NO play)

Thanks

OX

I have the same situation with my truck and I am told that is a dealer item and the dealer only sells the complete extension housing for $300+.

I found the sleeve, onyl 14$. Try national drivetrain 800-507-4327, item # 1356127001 (better give them your TC tag to be sure it's the same part). Presses in and out easily. My old sleeve was not as worn as I thought as play between slip yoke and bushing was not that much different with new bushing.
