Question Mta

Hello all,
Can anyone tell me what a managed thermactor air (MTA) system is, what purpose it serves, etc. I'm kinda curious, Thanx

Basicly the thermactor system is there to reduce carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions as a result of incompleat combustion, they inject fresh air from the air pump into the hot exhaust gases after they exit the exhaust ports. you may have one of three types in your truck, conventional thermactor (CT), MTA (non EEC controlled) and MTA (EEC controlled) if you have a Haynes manual it explains these systems pretty good...
