Tech Guys - ABS Light AFTER Sensor Replacement

Guys,

My ABS light was coming on after pulling my foot off the Pedal at start-up... So the ABS Computer seems to check-out but it would be a Sensor...

I replaced the Rear Diff Sensor and YEP light came right back on... Any other ideas??

Also is it possible to disable the light for a day??? I need to get my VA inspection (not scanning yet in our County) and I'm assuming an ABS light is a Quick Failure

If The abs light goes off after abuot 3 or 4 seconds after start up thats norman.. its just the ecm running the abs through a series of self checks ... my question is and i didn't see where you mentioned it.... does it stay on all the time and while driving to .

YUP...

Start the thing with my foot on the brake... It cycles through the self test... As soon as my foot comes off the pedal... Light on and stays on

You will need an ABS-capable scan tool to pull the code if you have 4WABS.

Sorry..

Yep , hes right, its a stored (dtc) hard code .. you will need a scan tool to pull retreive the code .. then you should be able to determine the the problem.

Did you try disconnecting the battery after you replaced the sensor? I replaced the same sensor on my 99 xlt awd and the light would not go off until I reset the code.

YUP... REset the WORLD... Pulled front Brakes to make sure front sensors were in good shape too...

I ended up Disabling the Light for the Inspection (don't ask... long freaking process - involving Soldering Iron)
