I'm in the process of cleaning up some rust spots on my crapsman toolbox and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a spray can paint that will match the standard toolbox red color. I suppose I could get a speck of paint and try to match it but would like to save some time if someone has already done this. I'm not looking for a factory finish just something pretty close.
Last time I looked (about 2 years ago) Sears sells the paint in the paint area in spray cans. Just pull out the drawers and go to town. I have a can of read and of dark gray.
I used Rustoleum's Painters Touch "Apple Red" on my dad's 40 year old Craftsman Tool Box. It matches the Mechanics Chest I bought a few years ago pretty close.
(You could even put a thin black stripe on either side of the Ford Blue!)
Shweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
C'mon!! This was supposed to be a quick sunday afternoon project...now you got me thinking...paint my toolboxes to match my truck and add a ford emblem and the F250 and V10 badges !!!!!!
Or, you could go nuts and add a Ford Oval, an International logo, a pair of Mack dogs, and stickers. Although, I don't have any scratches or rust spots.

My tool box said it feels naked compared to yours. I could never get myself to put a sticker on a car or a toolbox. If my paint job comes out like crap I'll just sticker the crud out of it.
