Have an extra wide weatherguard toolbox, painted black aluminum. It's 12 years old and getting a little dull. I want to either get it painted or perhaps getting it sprayed with the bed liner material. Just ordered my truck so I have some time. Any feedback is appreciated.
Bedliner is nice but it will fade out unless you get the UV coating. My Rhino liner I had installed a month after I bought my truck in 04 and I didnt get UV but it still shines like brand new oddly
i did the roll on bedliner stuff on my weatherguard. The only thing i did different was to use a small paint roller instead of the kit roller. The kit roller was extremely porous and i didn't want that rough of a finish on the box. The paint roller made a smoother finish.
I just used a hand drill with a wire brush to scuff it up to ensure the material would stay put and not chip/flake etc. It has lasted over 2 years with no signs of wear and tear.
Price a new weatherguard these days and it will motivate anyyone into bringing "new life" into their initial investment.
