Hi,
I am new here, I recently purchased an E350 super duty diesel shuttle bus to convert into a mobile dog grooming van. We didn't get much done to it over the winter, and now it won't start. I was told to try it in Neutral and it started. The next time I tried it nothing. We put a new neutral safety switch in and it still won't start. The battery is charged. Does any one have a wiring diagram? My old truck just died so now I need this one in a hurry.
Thanks for any help.
Misty J
Does the radio and such come on when you turn the key?
What happens if you turn the headlights on, and then try to crank it? Do the headlights stay bright, but the engine does not turn over, or do the headlights pretty much go out when you try to turn the engine over?
While you're looking around the van, locate the second battery too.
Follow the + battery cable to locate the relay. You might have to take some parts off just to see it. Vans have everything jammed in there.
AL.
The headlights stay strong. They think its the relay for the starter but we can't find it.
Since the headlights stay strong, it does sound like something to do with the relay or the starter itself.
Sorry I can only give you general guidlines, since your vehicle is a later model and literature and diagrams are very expensive. If you plan on keeping this vehicle and working on it yourself, you might want to invest in some manuals. www.helminc.com are the publishers of the Ford manuals.
