well guys it happened today. my tranny went. i think anyway. I was accelerating and then I heard a noise and then I had nothing. No drive in any gear. My truck is a 90 F150 with a 302. I don't know what kind of tranny I have. But I just hope it is something simple. Thanks guys

Bought a set of second hand axles and pot for about $40 and problem solved. Wasn't anything wrong with the pot but the 'new' axles where 28 spline and the old pot was 32 spline.
it's auto and 2 wheel drive. I guess that info is important.
does the C6 tranny have overdrive in it? I know it is a really heavy duty tranny. So if I had the AOD or E4OD would I be able to swap in a C6. BTW, I have a little switch on my dash that turns the O/D off if that helps
hey taurus,
get your VIN number or get the Transmission code off of the door jam of your truck post it back on the site and i'm sure someone will be able to decode it for you and tell you exactly what type and name of the transmission you have!
good luck
nick
The O/D switches are on trucks with the E4OD I think. Those things are a bit expensive to replace I think. If it is an E4OD I don't think you'll be able to swap in a C6. You probably could, but it can get tricky dealing with the transmission wiring.
