I feel so dumb asking this.... wheres the feul pump??? I heard noises coming from up in the tank when I turned the ignition.. but is that where the pump is?

A '90 should have two, in-tank fuel pumps. ...Terry, '90 F150, 302, 4x4, dual tanks.

There should be 3 fuel pumps. 1 low pressure pump in each tank (total of 2) and a external high pressure pump connected to both tanks mounted on the drivers side frame rail between the tanks and the engine.

You will need to disconnect the fuel feed and return lines at the engine.
