carb identification

Sorry to admit that I've done a lot of looking and can't quite nail down what carb I have. My engine is a '57 312 ECZ-C in a 56 F100. The carburetor is a 2 bbl with dashpot (for Fordomatic). It says Ford on the side of the main body but I can't find a plate or stamp other than "ECW" on the drivers side of the main body.

Can you help me find out the type or model of this one? It does look like the unit in my '56 Ford Truck Shop Manual but the manual only identifies this carburetor as a dual.

Can you post a couple of clear photos? That would pin it down pretty well I would think.

Smile carb facts from another forum

My book shows six different ECW carbs and all are listed for 1956 Ford trucks with the 272 engine. Here are the Holley part numbers:

ECW-D: Holley #R-1157A
ECW-G: Holley #R-1157-1A
ECW-F: Holley #R-1158A
ECW-J: Holley #R-11581A
ECW-E: Holley #R-1160A
ECW-H: Holley #R-11601A

The model number for each shows to be a 2110-EE which is slightly different from the car carb which is listed as a model number 2110-EEC. My book doesn't specify what the differences are though.

At least the carb you have is still the 1956 truck carb which makes it potentially the original carb.

Thanks guys...

If you want, I have the complete Holley 2110 carb manual in digital format (Microsoft Word). In fact, I have two different 2110 carb manuals.

e-mail me through FTE, but include your non-FTE e-mail address so I can attach the files. Each file runs about 4.5 MB, so make sure your e-mail system can handle 5 MB attachments or larger. Most non HTML-based systems can, but I'm not sure about Hotmail or some of the other free services cuz' I don't use them.

I think the only difference in car and truck carbs was the choke, auto for cars, manual for trucks, some truck carbs had provision for throttle cables, and some had different linkage connection for auto trans kick down, but basically thery're all the same

Couldn't find the -E version of the carb. Got several C0AE-9510-x carbs, but not the -E model. About all I can tell you is that it was originally a 1960 model from the C0 in the prefix.

Barry, does this model show in your later parts books?
