help

Aside from my 54 F-100 I also have a 1950 Ford 2dr that needs the fender bead (metal strip) replaced as the past owner removed them and very badly at that. He said he wanted to smoth out the rear of the car for that custom look. Well I want to replace them and it is going to be a very tuff job I think. Does anyone know if a ford site exists that can help me with this and other things as I get going on this project? This is the rear fender strir from the tail lites to the rear of the back window wher the roof meets the body.

Check out FordBarn.com. I'm certain there are others but this one may help.

fender bead is available inexpensively from most all the restoration vendors, in several materials and sizes in bulk. Installation is very straight forwards, unbolt the fender, lay the strip in place punching holes and cutting notches in the tab as appropriate to accomidate the attachment bolts and allowing it to make smooth curves and then bolt the fender back in place. If you punch the holes oversized you'll be able to have some wiggle room to get the bead nice and snug against the joint as you tighten the bolts.
