Since it's in a 4x4 rig . I figure that guys here woulda done it if anyone has. Talkin about removing that big ol A/C box. What's involved. I'm putting a motor into one that has the A/C junk, and can rip parts off one without A/C if needed (right ivan?). I dont know what's involved in that box though. Anyone straight up done it? do i need to swap heater cores or fans or anything? And as far as the actual A/C lines, Is there a good way to remove it without releasing freon into the ozone layer, or at least without freezing myself? THANKS!!!
Oh, and the truck with A/C is a 76 F100 4x4, the other is a 74
i am about to so i can make room for my snorkel setup. luckliy my a/c system was already empty so i unbolted it and pulled everything out except the actual box on he pass side. thats next. the problem with that is i wanna keep my heater but removing the a/c box requires some ingenuitive thinking. i was surprised howmuch room i scored by removing all that useless complexity in the engine compartment! you'll be very happy to rid of it to!
really the only thing involved is unbolting and removing the components. as far as the a/c box i am not real sure but i think it is pretty involved... theres a lot to it b/c you gotta get all up under the dash on the inside and all. like i said i haven't done it quite yet but it is high on my list

Remove the ac box then replace it with a non ac box, i believe that you will need to use the high output box (you will cutts anyway). And you should be able to get some money out of the ac stuff that comes out of that 76.
