My wife was telling me when she got home from work that, on her morning commute, some pickup lost its bedliner. Same thing as what happened to me with the hood flying off a squished car. She's about 2 or 3 cars behind this truck when the bedliner comes out, over her car and lands behind her on the freeway. From what she told me, the rearview mirror didn't show any accidents, but there were cars all over the road and into the median.
I was in my 79 Chevy Chevette, traveling the road to Flamingo, in the Florida Everglades, and another car tailgating me.I was starting to get a little bit upset with this guy behind me as we were the only two cars insight. When I saw what looked like a log in the road, I swung to the left to miss it. I thought sure the car behind me would hit it, but it swung out at the same time and missed it.Well it was not a log, but the biggest snake that I have ever seen outside of a zoo.I do not know what kind of snake it was, just really big. When we arrived at the end of the road in Flamingo, the guy behind me, thanked me for missing the snake as he felt it would have wrecked us both, had I hit it. I wanted to tell him, that had he not been tailgating me, I would have been able to stop and not come close to hitting the snake, but since all turned out well, I just said thanks and waited until the tailgater got back on the road ahead of me. I had hoped the snake would still be there on the return trip, but it was not.
Just as well, I guess, I really don't like snakes, but I am glad that I did not hit it. The snake was in his domain, we were the intruders.
I usually dont look at this site much but saw this and had to reply. About 2 years ago I was in my chevy 1500 (work truck, not my choice) I had a semi on each side and a car behind me. Low and behold here comes a bay window at me on the road ahead, no where to go so BAM!! I take it on, lucky me it just desintegrated I was more worried about 4 flat tires because when it hit the road intially it broke all the glass out. Lucky for the car behind me he had time to move over into the other lanes. Oh yeah I've hit a total of 5 dear between 2 pickups now (my own fords ) they suck!! I live on a road adjacent to the river with steep ditches, you'll be going along and "oh ****" theres a dear!! 2 of them I actually got stopped for but they were on a dead run and just plowed into ME!
