No, no, I loved the gears...they were my my favorite mod!
Well, actually, the Ford T-Lock was my favorite with the combination of the gears. They made my truck niiiiice and fast. I truly miss putting Chevy V8's in their place...and I did too.

To tell you the truth with gas prices staying above $2 for good, the tuner sounds a lot better than the chip. I can't imagine paying over $2.50 for premium gas just for the chip. By mid-summer, premium gas will no doubt reach the $3 mark.

Plus tuners have the Diagnostics check and they are a lot easier on installation.
Forgot to mention...the reason I wounldn't want gears again is just because they make your odometer get off and they usually whine. The more you mod, the more wierd noises your truck starts to make...I guess.

i believe the whine is from not setting the correct backlash. if set properly, they shouldnt make noise. but i might be wrong
a tuner (and chip) should be able to recalibrate the speedo and odo, lets not forget bobo and dodo.
but hey, how's the magnum tom? me and my girlfriend refer to them as the "evil station wagon"
i think some 20's and a supercharger would spice it up nicely. what color by the way?

Actually, Trixters Racing makes a turbo kit for the 4.6L I think Crash said he made over 400 tq at the wheels with 8 psi. Its insanely cool.
Joe, I say ditch the intake and exhaust and save up for some real power. For reals yo.
