Whilst rummaging about in the engine bay today I found this connection which I had not spotted before. Does anyone know what it is for and whether I need it on my truck????
I cannot see anything without a connector and its pretty mangled from rubbing on somthing. Wire colors liike like a green/ yellow and brown or orange.
It spurs off from the loom running from the large multipole connector on the top of the wheel arch lining between the fuse box and engine.
I have at least one like that under the hood that is not connected to anything. Mine is not mangled, but has never been connected since I have had the truck, and like yours, there is nothing visible to connect it to. So while I cannot tell you what it is for, I can tell you not to worry about it. I have seen other vehicles that have unconnected connectors like that; I also have at least one under my dash as well.
Some Broncos and F-150's have a Bosch style sensor in the end of the master cylinder - I think it has to do with the cruise control. When added factory cruise to my 95, I had to short that connector (or replace the master cylinder Gueess which I did?
