Problem Solved (when she warms up she looses power)
89 351w C6
Ok! She runs great in the morning, but when she gets to opperating tempeture she looses all her power.
I am an idiot. I have had this problem for 3 months and people have been giving me the answer over and over but I didnt listen, and maybe some of you aren't listening ether. Timing! Timing! Timing! Some one on this fourm told me that if it is fuel injected, then the computer will adjust the timing. I believed that. even tho Greystreak and others told me to remove the spout and time her over and over again.
People if you are having this problem (which I know allot of you are) check the timmng even if you think it is correct.
My trcuk runs so great now I can't believe it. She is as powerful as I had hoped she would be. I got brand new 33X12.50 and I can burn rubber around corners to easy.
Is yours lifted? I just got an 86 with the same engine and tranny as yours and it is going to need some love in the wheel/tire department. I am thinking 33's but I don't know how much I want to lift it if at all. Is yours lifted? How high? What kit?

Yes, look at my gallery. She has a 6" Rancho lift.
Dang! Those are 33's? That sits about right, I figured those had to be at least 36" Cool. Was the lift hard to install or was it there when you got it?
So I wasn't seeing things, thanks Tigerhawk... If that were a six those are fitting more like 35s, right? I don't know much about lifts, that's why I am asking. I get to pick up my 86 Bronco in a week and I am putting together a giant sized wish list of things I am going to do to it. Any recommendations? It is an 86 XLT with a 351/C6 it's all stock right now. It will need new feet since the little stock crap just looks ridiculous... I am curious about lifts, wheels, tires, bigger brakes (possibly) soft top, engine mods... I would be interested in picking your brain.
I bought the Truck this way, with the lift. I don't know for sure what size lift it is, but I bought new Rancho shocks, and the guy who installed them and ordered them said it was a 6" lift. In the pictures the truck is sitting on a slant. Look at the picture of it in the garage where you see the shocks in the front. that picture will give you more of an ideal of how high she is. the tires are 33X12.5.15

No your not seeing things, I'm pretty sure it is the 6" lift, scence the shocks fit right and they were purchased for the 6" lift. And I know the tires are 33" I bought them my self.
Anyway, I consider myself lucky. I bought this turck off e-bay fully loaded for $3600. It has Front and rear ARB air lockers. Rancho Lift. Soft top and a kick a$$ stereo. with custom 12" woffers in the back and two power boosters in the cup holder.
You just don't know the real joy of driving the Bronco until you have the top off.
For me the lift and soft top would have to be a must.
Well, I haven't picked mine up yet, but if the mechanical is all in working order I am planning lift first, then wheels, then soft top... it's the desert, so no top at all will work till I get my way... HA! I had to get something with more space in it. I have an 82 F150 that I put a new engine in last year, but we got a Rottie, so I needed to have the space in the back for the dawg...
I am most excited about picking up my Bronco - my first 4x4! YAY!
percy, I think you should go with a 4" lift, 33x12.50 bfg mud-terrains, weld racing wheels, k+n air filter, k+n oil filter, bassani ceramic coated headers + y-pipe, ford racing 9mm plug wires and msd blaster tfi coil.
I have a skyjacker 6" with 33" BFG's and I have to agree with the guys who say that looks like a four inch lift. I have a lot more space in the wheel wells of my 94 with the 33's than the bronco in the photo.
As for the 6" and 33 combo, I love it. It gives enough space to really tuuck the tires into the wells when the suspension is really flexed out. Any less clearance, and I would have scrapped my front fenders long ago.
even 35's and a 6 inch lift has more room than ure truck does.
Still not sure, would like to know though. the paper work does not say how many inches of lift it is. It is a Rancho 6420 Suspension System. If you can find out what lift size that number is then we would know. I even had a guy look at it and said it could be lifted hire than it is with the lift it has on it. I don't know. I'll put it on the fourm and see if someone has the same lift and knows how many Inches it is.
