I am looking at replacing a worn out and bent bench seat in my 90 F250 Ext Cab. I have looked into Salesco.com and SteelHorse at their replacement seats with the buckets and middle seat/storage area. My question is, will either of these slide forward enough to allow passengers to the back seat? I have called the companies and neither of the operators could tell me.
WARNING!!! I have not had a good experience with Salesco and I've seen a lot of e-mails about folks buying rims from them only to get shipped the wrong set or not being able to get their money back, etc. I had purchased something from them and when I called the guy accused me of not getting back to him and told me I was lying to him when I told him I had not been notified of any problems on the order. He was extremely rude and I asked to talk to his manager....but there was none. It seems as though this guy runs the show himself (has a neat website, though).
Ok, nuff said. I believe steelhorse and others sell a kit that will allow the seat to tilt forward to get access to your extended cab. Check out the seat kits sold in JC Whitney and they describe the optional kit.
Look up Seatworks at www.seatworks.com; Sonny's Truck Seats at www.sonnystruckseats.com; Truck World at www.truckworld.com; or Car Parts at carparts.com for additional seat info.
I ordered seats from salesco and it took over 3 months to get them. they put me in touch with the manufacturer. when they finally arrived the drivers side was twisted. they kept saying that they would pick it up, they never did. I finally called ups and sent it back myself. after a few months I finally got the seat back. after a few months it broke again. I opened it up and the vertical backrest bar was broke. all they did to fix it the first time was twist it straight. it stressed the metal and it snapped. it took another month and a half after dealing with salesco and the manufacturer to get the seat picked up again and fixed. the wooden armrest was also busted but I am going to live with it.
I am just glad I kept my old seat.
BigBlu, look in the junk yards I have an 86 lariat that has captains seats and a center console all from the factory so they are out there and the passenger side flips forward like the bronco so you can get access to the rear seat.
