I was driving (on my 2001 Sport track) minding my own business, as usual, and the windows worked great. I roll them down and up a couple of times with no problem. I went to roll them down shortly after, they did not. The car must have been running for about 15 minutes. The back window still works. It seems there is no power to the system. I checked the fuse and I believe the same fuse powers other items. The fuse is good and all other items seem to work fine. I just have no power for my four windows. I would think it could be a module or a relay, but I am totaly unfamiliar with these trucks. I have been a Chevy man for too long and I am not even very familiar with today's electronic vegicles. Any ideas?
There may be a relay for windows, but I'm not sure. I suggest getting a Chiltons or Haynes manual. If no relay, I'd start by pulling the power window switch assembly out and use a test light to see if you are getting power to it. If none of the windows work, then the problem is probably between the battery and the switch. Not sure if the rear window is on the same circuit. Good luck...
The back window is on the same power circuit, but I believe the entire switch is not getting power because the swith assembly does not light up at night and the small light that indicates the the rest of the pasenger and back windows are energized is also off.
My guess is that is nothing serious, just a module that went bad or even accidently disconected with time or a rough bump. I do have the extended warranty so I may just take it to the dealer and have them repair it as well as to check the side mirror motor which stopped working a while back. It would only cost me te $100 deductible. Still, something tell me that it's only a small connection that went bad. I just don't know where to look.
Thanks for your reply Marragtop, it makes me feel like there is life out there redaing my post!
